ReportPlain is a patient-focused tool that translates medical reports into clear, plain-English explanations. Medical reports are written for physicians, not patients - they use technical terminology, dense abbreviations, and clinical shorthand that can feel impenetrable to anyone without a medical background.
ReportPlain bridges that gap. Paste or upload your MRI, X-ray, blood test, radiology report, or pathology report, and get a clear breakdown of what each section means, how serious the findings are, and what questions to bring to your next appointment.
Paste or upload your report
Copy text directly from your patient portal or upload a PDF, JPG, or PNG file. Any report type works - MRI, CT, X-ray, blood work, or pathology.
AI analyzes the medical language
ReportPlain uses Claude, Anthropic's AI model, to identify key findings, translate medical terminology, and assess the overall severity of the report.
Get a plain-English explanation
Within seconds you receive a plain-English summary, a severity indicator, a breakdown of each finding, and suggested questions to ask your doctor.
Your reports are processed securely and never stored on our servers. Each session is private and your data is discarded immediately after your explanation is generated.
We do not log report content, associate results with identifiable personal information, or share any data with third parties. The only external service your report text is transmitted to is Anthropic's API for processing, which operates under Anthropic's enterprise privacy terms.
You should not include your name, date of birth, or other identifying information when pasting report text if you prefer maximum privacy.
ReportPlain is not a medical device and is not regulated by the FDA or any other medical regulatory body. It does not provide medical advice, medical diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
All explanations generated by ReportPlain are for informational and educational purposes only. They are intended to help patients understand the language in their reports - not to replace a clinical assessment by a qualified healthcare provider.
Always consult your physician, radiologist, or other qualified healthcare provider before making any medical decisions. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
The accuracy of any explanation depends on the quality and completeness of the text you provide. ReportPlain cannot account for your full medical history, current symptoms, or clinical context that your treating physician has access to.
